The finish that Custom Woodworks uses is a catalyzed varnish that, when cured, is very hard and resistant to water and alcohol. Be careful not to drag items that may cause scratches before the finish is cured. It takes approximately three weeks to fully cure. However once fully cured, and along with regular care you will have a finish that will last generations.
Use a damp cloth for normal cleaning. You may also use lemon oil. You may also use a polish that DOES NOT include silicone, wax, solvents or abrasives but is not nessary.
When spills occur, they should be wiped up quickly. Prolonged exposure to moisture may cause damage to the finish and can void your warranty.
Avoid placing your furniture to close to heat sources such as a register. Prolonged exposure to direct heat can cause cracking or warping and can void your warranty. Avoid placing your furniture in direct sunlight.
Do not place hot items, such as pots and pans, on the surface without protection.
Maintain a proper moisture content, your home needs to maintain a level of humidity between 25% and 55%.
